Our experienced tanning technicians apply the tanning solution using a special spray tan machine.
You can choose to wear your own underwear (not your best pair please, as the tan solution may stain), or we supply complimentary disposable G-strings – some Bella Babes prefer to be naked to avoid the undie line, it’s completely up to you! You might like to also wear a disposable shower cap as light hair may stain.
Application only takes about 5 – 10 minutes and we will ask you to move into certain positions to ensure you are sprayed evenly all over.
We dry you off afterwards and recommend you wear dark, loose fitting clothing after your spray tan.
- Spray tan may stain artificial finger nails.
- Spray tan does not contain any sunscreen or provide protection from the sun so you will need to ensure you apply sunscreen when outdoors.
You need to wait 24 hours between waxing, shaving and application of your spray tan.

Absolutely not! Both Bella Bronze and Vani-T tanning products are 100% vegan and cruelty free.
Bella Bronze products are free from parabens, fragrances, harmful chemicals and preservatives and contain natural ingredients such as:
- Oils of Jojoba, Sweet Almond and Avocado
- Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, Cranberry, Red Seaweed, Rosehip and Walnut
Vani-T tanning products are made from 95% natural ingredients and include:
- Oils of Argan, Macadamia and Coconut: to calm, hydrate, protect and improve elasticity
- Quandong, Kakadu Plum, Vitamins A, C and E: age-fighting and cell rejuvenating for younger, more radiant looking skin.
While we tan many pregnant and breast-feeding mummas, for peace of mind, we always recommend consulting your GP prior to spray tanning.
Most definitely not! The spray tan solutions we use were designed to enhance the natural skin tone. Our technicians will assess your skin prior to your tan and tailor it to suit your request. To keep your tan looking ahmazing – be sure to follow our spray tan aftercare recommendations.
For the first 24 hours after your spray tan application, we do recommend avoiding swimming, exercise and moisturising. This timeframe allows your tan solution to completely develop after your initial shower. After the 24 hour period, yes swimming is fine.
Note: Swimming in Chlorinated water for extended periods of time may alter the longevity and colour of your tan. Rinse thoroughly after swimming to remove any chlorine and then moisturise and drink plenty of water to rehydrate your skin.
TIPS + HELPFUL INFORMATION
To prolong the life of your tan and keep you looking gorgeously bronzed for longer, follow these steps:
Before your Spray Tan:
- Exfoliate your body – this can be done the night before or day of your appointment
- Do not wear perfume, oils, moisturisers, creams or makeup prior to your spray tan
- Wear dark inexpensive underwear (the tan solution may stain)
- If you have sensitive skin, pop in the day before for a test patch to check your skin compatibility.
If your skin is sensitive after waxing, apply a cold washer or ice to reduce the redness. You may also use an anti-histamine lotion.
After your Spray Tan:
- Do not wet your skin for 5 hours after the tan.
- Showering the next morning is best. When you shower the bronzer that shows us where we have sprayed will wash off, this is not your tan washing off, this is part of the tanning process. Your skin will continue to tan.
- Pat your skin dry rather than rubbing.
- Avoid exercise or perspiring after tanning.
- Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!!! The moisturiser will slow down exfoliation of the skin’s outer layer and hence the removal of the tan.
- Do not exfoliate as this will remove the tan.
- You can top up the tan using instant spray on tan that we have available for purchase.
- When the tan starts looking shabby then exfoliate and start again!
- You need to wait for 1-3 hours or 8 hours for the long developing one until you have your shower. With the quick developing tan you don’t need to wear it for 8 hours however it still will continue to deepen in colour over the 8 hour period so do not stress that you have no colour after having your shower.
- You need to wait 24 hours between waxing, shaving and application of your spray tan.
- Spray tan does not contain any sunscreen or provide protection from the sun so you will need to ensure you apply sunscreen when outdoors.
- We recommend that you use Vani-T Bronzing Custard which is a gradual tan moisturiser that helps you keep your tan looking bronzed and hydrated in between tanning sessions.
- We recommend Bella Bronze Self Tanning Mousse which is great for an instant tan for when you are away on holidays and are not able to have your tan done in the salon. You must remember to wash your hands after using both of these products as you don’t want your palms to be brown.
- We recommend you wear dark, loose fitting clothing after your spray tan – our LTD Little Tanning Dress products are ideal. It is also best not to wear a bra if you can.
